Rules Q&A
- Q: Can a personality that needs not bow for to cast a kiho, cast that kiho when bowed? (ie a personality with Takao's Jingasa)
A: So long as the Kiho itself does not specify that you need target an unbowed caster, you're fine. Martin Lund, "Rules for 5 July 2004", 7 Jul 2004 - Q: Mirimoto Satoe says that you can use her ability when a personality bows to cast a kiho...can you still use her ability if the bowing is prevented with a card like Takao's Jingasa?
A: Nope. They didn't bow, so no trigger occurred. Martin Lund, "Rules for 20 May 2004", 24 May 2004 - Q: Mirumoto Gonkuro is being played out of the Temple of Hoshi. He has a Takao's Jingasa attached and is currently bowed. Is he able to perform kihos?
A: Yes, unless the Kiho requires otherwise. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 17 March 2004", 18 Mar 2004 - Q: Spells and Kiho that do not cause you to Bow, do you still have to bow? Or Takao's Jingasa?
A: Yes and yes. Anyone who casts a Spell or Kiho bows afterwards. [card text] This is an effect of the Event, not a cost of casting the Spell. It cannot be removed by things like Takao's Jingasa. Also, Reactions that straighten a caster after bowing will not work because the Event prevents straightening. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 9 Feb. 2004", 10 Feb 2004 - Q: If u have a personality who is bowed who has Takao's Jingasa on him an it is unbowed or satsu. Can either on of them cast a kiho that requires them to bow while they are bowed.
A: Yes (http://l5r.alderac.com/rulings/#Kiho). Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 18 December 2003", 18 Dec 2003 - Q: A bowed Personality may cast a Kiho that does not require bowing to cast.
So to be clear, a bowed personality with Takao's Jingasa ready Can cast Kihos?
A: According to the ruling you quoted, yes, this will be true in Diamond Edition. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 12 September 2003", 12 Sep 2003
