Rules Q&A
- Q: But what about battle actions? For example if I am attacking and I have a Tamori Shaitung in play who is not in the attacking army..can I still use her ability which is a battle action to effect that battle?
A: No. She says "this Province". Jeff Alexander, "rules for 9 Feb. 2004", 10 Feb 2004 - Q: Also, I havethe following misprinted cards: 3x Rallying Cry (The G is left off GE on the bottom of the card) Proposal of peace (Jade era event) has fate back instead of dynasty Sezarus mask (blurred image and text) Nikushimi (blurred image and text) Friendly traveler village has a splotch of purple ink in the text box Tamori Shaitung has no set distinction at bottom of card
Does anyone know what can be done with these cards? Are they worth anything? are they worth koku? any ideas? Can I trade them in fro normal copies?
A: The misbacked Proposal of Peace is worth 3 koku. It's also legal to play if you use opaque sleeves.
The blurred and blemished images aren't worth anything unless the defects are truly severe.
The Rallying Cry and Shaitung are fixed cards from An Oni's Fury Clan decks. None of the fixed reprint cards in any of that set's decks have any set attributions. Apparently, according to your discovery, only the "G" from "GE" got deleted from the Rallying Cry, which is something I hadn't known until now. I've just checked my reference stacks, though, and it's like that on all of them. So, yes, you found a misprint, but it's not isolated; every Rallying Cry pre-sorted into all AOF decks is like that. And no, it's not worth koku. Jeff Alexander, "post for 3 June 2002", 4 Jun 2002 - Q: It seems now that the one clan whose design specifications was released will now constantly be compared to those design specifications and is open to debate and comparison (and further disapproval, if the players do not believe the new characters this clan receives meets their design specifications),
I find no cause for alarm. Players have heretofore proven themselves to be eminently capable of complaining in the complete absence of such a document.
I find it disturbing when the players that complain are put aside by the company that they are the customers of. When it is the company that should be listening. So many that complain are the ones that don't live in the big important cities of the tournaments that deside the design for the story. I fight for those people that know they cannot make there say because they cannot even come close to those that spend thousands to get the cards needed. My idea of a story twist maybe small, but I like the idea of Isawa Nakamuro and Tamori Shaitung getting married. That would be a great plot twist. What is happening with Aikune is so strange I got confused.
A: I think you missed my point. Our customers already voice their opinions when they find something they don't like about our game. They don't feel the need to verify first that what we've done breaks some rules on an ink-and-paper list sitting in my desk drawer before they view their observations as valid (nor should they, but that's another matter).
Your concerns about suddenly being less able to impact the storyline now that this file has been written are entirely misplaced, since game mechanics are about all that it covers. Jeff Alexander, "post for 24 April 2002", 25 Apr 2002
