Rulings
- "A Ratling Follower can be attached to Tchickchuk when he performs this action" means he can use his action on a Follower being attached to himself without making that attachment illegal. You cannot attach a Follower to him while he's reducing the cost of another Ratling card coming into play elsewhere. [January 2000] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 126
- Does not give a force bonus to himself. [FAQ] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 126
- The phrase "A Ratling Follower can be attacked to Tchickchuk when he performs this action." only means he is allowed to use his action on a Follower being attached to himself without making that attachment illegal. It does not allow you to attach a Follower to him at the same time as he's reducing the cost of another Ratling card coming into play elsewhere. [l5rinfo, 1/2000] Accumulated Rulings, February 8, 2000, p. 57
- Erratum: is a Creature. Text Change & Errata List, February 15, 2000, p. 20
- Q: Tchickchuk says "A Ratling Follower can be attached to Tchickchuk when he performs this action." Does that mean I get to do two things at once: use him to make some other Ratling card free and give him a Follower at the same time? A: No. That clause only assures you it's legal for him to make a Follower that he's attaching to himself free, since bowed Personalities normally cannot attach cards. The Imperial Herald, Issue 14, p. 45
- Erratum: Tchickchuk is a Creature. The Imperial Herald, Issue 10, p. 11
Rules Q&A
- Q: When The Price of War is in effect, does Tchickchuk reduce the gold cost of a ratling to zero anyway, or do I have to pay 2 gold for the ratling ?
A: Whatever the cost gets raised to, Tchickchuk makes it zero. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 8 September 2003", 9 Sep 2003 - Q: - When I cast Hearth of Inferno. Can I target a Tchickchuk (killing him) and then target (and kill) other 2F Rattling card (3F if with Tchickchuk)?
A: No. Heart targets and destroys everything all at once, not sequentially. If there's a 2f Chuck making a 2f Ratling follower 3f, Tchickchuck will die, but the 3f Rat will be 3f when the spell looks at it to see if it can destroy it. By the time that Chuck is dead, the spell has stopped looking for things to kill, so it wanders on down to the local pub for a drink. Vaughn Derderian, "Rules for July 3rd", 3 Jul 2001 - Q: My understanding is: Bow to reduce to zero the gold cost of a Ratling card. You may also attach a Ratling Follower to Tchickchuk when you do this. Doing both of these things when you bow Tchickchuk would result in two cards entering play: a generic Ratling card (be it a personality, follower, Nest, Villages, etc.), plus a Ratling follower card being attached to Tchickchuk.
A: No. See Rules Archive. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 22 June 2001", 24 Jun 2001
