Rules Q&A
- Q: If Bayushi Hisoka is killed or discarded and then re-enters play can I target a new card with him?
A: Yes. The trait triggers whenever Hisoka enters play. Martin Lund, "Bayushi Hisoka", 11 Feb 2008 - Q: Would the original target (targeted when Hisoka first entered play) still lose honor when it bows as long as Hisoka remains in play?
A: No. The effect of the trait that triggered when Hisoka entered play only lasts "while Hisoka remains in play." Once he leaves play, the duration on that effect has expired. Bringing him back into play doesn't restart the effect - it is gone for good. It does let you use his Trait again to start a New effect, though, as noted above. Martin Lund, "Bayushi Hisoka", 11 Feb 2008 - Q: Bayushi Hisoka enters play, targeting a ring. My opponent is playing Mountain Summit Temple and bows his Monk to put the Ring back into his hand. What happens when that Ring re-enters play?
A: http://rules.l5r.com/Effects#Tracking_rule: "'Memory' of the status of individual cards ends when the card enters a deck or a hand." Zen Faulkes, "Bayushi Hisoka and Mountain Summit Temple", 20 Dec 2007 - Q: Bayushi Hisoka: If targeted card bows due to resolution can he seppuku?
A: No. Zen Faulkes, "Bayushi Hisoka and seppuku", 7 Sep 2007 - Q: What if I target him with an action that bows him?
Since Hisoka targeted him with a trait, and that trait seems to be causing the honorloss, can the target card seppuku at all?
A: No, for reason given. Zen Faulkes, "Bayushi Hisoka and seppuku", 7 Sep 2007 - Q: Can you bow bowed cards by targeting him with an action that would bow him? No. The effect is negated.
Nezumi tomarrow seeker wrote:Would that trigger the honor loss, or does the card have to be straightened?
A: It must actually transition from unbowed to bowed. Zen Faulkes, "Bayushi Hisoka and seppuku", 7 Sep 2007 - Q: Since Samurai has been released and there are already a few questions regarding samurai cards I'm assuming the sticky just hasn't been updated.
A: Incorrect assumption.
General rules questions are fine. Specific Samurai Edition card questions are discouraged. Zen Faulkes, "Bayushi Hisoka", 1 Aug 2007 - Q: [Obh]bayushi hisoka basic can target the SH?
A: No. Oracle text reflecting contemporary Rules. Strongholds were not "cards" in SE. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 9 May 2026
