- After you reveal cards in your Provinces at the start of your turn, if this Event is face-up in one of them, if any player currently controls five Oracles or Dark Oracles, each with a different element keyword, he wins the game; othwerwise, until the game ends, after any Phase ends during which a player took an action from an Earth card, an Air card or card with "Wind" in its title, a Fire card, a Water card, and a Void card, he wins the game after his next turn begins.

Rulings
- A canceled action does not count. [14 July 1999] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 73
- All "Oracle" cards count, including Dark Oracles and Oracle Personalities. [Keyword rule] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 73
- Erratum: Should read, "...any player who produces an Earth, Air (or Wind), Fire, Water, and Void action..." [Netnews, 26 August 1999] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 73
- Focus on... The Master of Five: Any Oracle cards will do, including Dark Oracles and Personalities with the various Oracle of... traits. The traits of an action never depend on more than one card. In the case of a Personality taking an action (including a Kiho) from your hand or printed on a card attached to the Personality, you use that card's traits, not the Personality's. If the Master of Fire lobbies for the Imperial Favor or uses an innate ability, that's a Fire action. If the Personality makes a Charge or casts Walking the Way, it's not a Fire action. Rules Q&A
- Q: No it says that on the card.
Printed Text "The Master of Five" If any player controls an Oracle of each of the five elements when this event resolves, the player wins the game. Until the end of the game, any player who produces an action from Earth, Air (or Wind), Fire, Water, and Void cards in the same phase wins the game at the begining of his or her next turn.
Errata Text "The Master of Five" # Should read, "...any player who produces an Earth, Air (or Wind), Fire, Water, and Void action..." [Netnews, 26 August 1999]
If any player controls an Oracle of each of the five elements when this event resolves, the player wins the game. Until the end of the game, any player who produces an Earth, Air (or Wind), Fire, Water, and Void action in the same phase wins the game at the begining of his or her next turn.
What does that change? If it changes nothing, why was it neccessary?
A: It allows keywords of individual abilities to count as well as those of whole cards, which is all that mattered for the original wording but was more narrow than intended.
For instance, if a Shugenja or Spell (or anything else other than an Action card) has an "Elemental Earth Limited" action, but does not have the "Earth" keyword in its title or boldface traits area, using that action is an Earth action but it is not an action from an Earth card. Martin Lund, "Rules for 7 September 2004", 10 Sep 2004 - Q: Lets say you have an event that allows a victory condition at the begining of your next turn, Like "The Master of Five". And someone fulfills the condition for victory, but in between the trigger for victory and the begining of the would be winner's next turn another player uses Shrine of the Sun, or what ever that cancels all on going effects of an event. Would the player still win or not?
A: He wouldn't win. There is no effect to make him win. Shrine of the Sun would end any effect already generated that "waits" to cause a win at the beginning of the turn. When that time comes around, the effect is long gone. Martin Lund, "Rules for 4 September 2004", 8 Sep 2004 - Q: QUESTION - After looking at rules/rulings on the Master of Five [see below], I'm curious if the event is now intended to provide an alternate win condition for any player who can:
A) Produce 1 action with the Earth, Air, Fire, Water, & Void traits (ie. Fire and Air's Elemental Action cast by a Master of X with 2 Inkyo's Jingasa's on him).
OR
B) Produce from 1 to 5 elemental actions with any combination of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, & Void traits among them (ie. Fire and Air's Elemental Action; Inkyo's Jingasa on a Master of X with an Elemental Action, also Fire and Water's Elemental Action in one phase).
A: You can win by bowing Naka Tokei XP2 for his innate ability. You can win by casting Fire and Air, Look Into the Void, Castle of Water, and then Shifting Earth. It doesn't matter how many Actions you take, only that they come from cards with a combination of traits so that you get a full set of the 5 elements (Air / Wind, Earth, Fire, Void, and Water). Martin Lund, "Rules for 3 September 2004", 7 Sep 2004 - Q: In the floor rules for Big Deck, one of the banned cards is listed as "The Master of Fire." I believe this should be "The Master of Five." Is this where I report this kind of thing?
A: This not where you would report such a thing, but THIS thread is! Ben Higgins, "Floor Rules Error", 1 Jul 2014
