Rules Q&A
- Q: A quick question about Solar Eclipse and the spell The Masters Imprisoned: Solar Eclipse resolves while a unit is in limbo because of the spell, what happens? A) The unit returns immediately to play; B) The unit returns normally; C) The unit is in limbo until the effects of the Solar Eclipse wear off; D) It's in limbo for ever; or E) Something else...
A: The unit returns to play for the rest of the turn and leaves play again from the end of the turn until the Event wears off normally. (I can't figure out the difference between your A and B answers.) Jeff Alexander, "post for 6 November 2002", 7 Nov 2002 - Q: Guardian of the Rift Repeatable Battle/Open, bow: Remove a target Ancestor attachment from the game. When the turn ends, return it to play attached to its previous Personality if he is still in play, ignoring costs and entering-play effects; if he is not, discard the Ancestor.
and
Shosuro Infiltrator (relevant text only) Battle: If this card is attached to a Scorpion Clan Personality, discard it: Create a 3F/1C/0PH Scorpion Clan • Samurai Personality card in this army. After the battle ends, remove the created Personality from the game, then return this card to play attached to this Personality.
Do the Ancestor/Follower come back unbowed?
What if, say, it removed the entire unit, like The Masters Imprisoned, but never mentioned anything about 'preserving bowed status'?
I mean, the cards are out-of-play in an area that has no orientation, right? And since the normal orientation of a card being brought into play is unbowed (except holdings), they would (re-)enter play like that; is my assupmtion correct?
A: As stated on p22 of the Comprehensive Rules: Cards, other than Holdings, enter play in the unbowed state. Alex Jones, "Shosuro Infiltrator / Guardian of the Rift", 9 May 2014
