Rules Q&A
- Q: If Absolution is used to Interrupt the action of an event that puts the event into play, does the event stay in the province and able to be used on later turns?
If Absolution is used to Interrupt the Open action of The New Order, does The New Order destory the province? If not, does The New Order stay in the province and able to used on later turns?
A: An Absolution'd Event is discarded. As stated under Events: Events in Provinces are discarded once an ability on them is used, unless the ability puts the Event itself into play.
The destruction of the province is an effect of The New Order's action, and is negated by Absolution. Alex Jones, "Absolution", 4 Aug 2015 - Q: If The New Order is revealed and resolved in your rightmost province, do you refill the province with a card before "resolving the event"?
A: No.
http://rules.l5r.com/CE_Card_types#Events: "An Event that is resolving leaves the province or other area from which it is resolving, a resolution area is created, and it goes there. Once in the resolution area, the Event's trait is triggered. If conditions in the trait's constraints block (if any) are met, and costs in the constraints block are paid, then the effects of the Event resolve in order."
"After the resolution of any of the Event's effects (even if they were prevented), if the Event card is in the resolution area, discard it. Then, if necessary, the province it came from is refilled." Zen Faulkes, "Event - The New Order - Event Resolution", 3 Sep 2009 - Q: I searched the forums and FAQ and saw this quotation:
A: It's not in the Celestial Edition FAQ. If you want to refer to something in the forum, please link to it so the Rules Guys can find the context. Zen Faulkes, "Event - The New Order - Event Resolution", 3 Sep 2009 - Q: For the event The New Order, do you win an Honor victory if you recieve ten more Honor points from where you are at that point, or does the event mean that in order to win on Honor, you have to reach 50 instead of 40?
A: 50 Brook Cunningham, "Oracle of the Void #rules", 30 Aug 2023
