- Q: What about the actions on the five unique Wind-related Holdings in Winds of Change (Court Chambers, Kyuden Tonbo, Oblivion's Gate, The Shogun's Barracks, Tsudao's Chambers)? A: The answer is the same: if you do not have to discard the Favor as a cost of the action, you can use the action when you don't have the Favor. Legend of the Five Rings FAQ, April 26, 2004, p. 11
Rules Q&A
- Q: hello!
shogun's barrack goes:
"Political Reaction: Bow The Shogun's Barracks and discard the Imperial Favor when you refill a Province to refill it face-up. You need not discard the Favor if your Wind is Akodo Kaneka."
An event is revealed within my event phase,I use shogun's barrack to refill the province face up.
What happens if ANOTHER event is revealed? Does it resolve?
A: No, although it will next turn if it is still in that Province during your Events Phase. Each Province is only checked once for an Event resolving. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 4 March 2004", 5 Mar 2004 - Q: The Shogun's Barracks: Does it mean that you have to have the favor to use it but not discard it if your wind is kaneka?
A: No. It means what it says: discarding the Favor is not a cost for the action when your Wind is Kaneka. Thus, if your Wind is Akodo Kaneka, the action may be used regardless of where the Favor is. Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 13 September 2003, Part 2", 13 Sep 2003
