Rules Q&A

• Q: (W)hen is the gold cost of an action card payed, before or after the costs written on the card?
A: http://rules.l5r.com/Costs_and_restrict ... g_of_costs: "Gold costs indicated by a Fate card's gold coin icon are paid before any costs indicated by the card's text." Zen Faulkes, "Togashi miyoko experienced", 13 Nov 2008
• Q: If I pay the gold cost of a kiho with a temple, does that mean that I can cast it with a bowed Miyoko or that I can straighten her afterwards?
A: Whether you could cast it with here while bowed would depend on the specific text of the kiho, so that has no general answer.
Straightening may be feasible, unless she was bowed to pay a cost of the action card in question -- which would work, because the gold cost payment must come first, before she could use her ability. Zen Faulkes, "Togashi miyoko experienced", 13 Nov 2008
• Q: Can Agashi MIyoshi search for Togashi (the Kami) via her reaction?
A: Agasha Miyoshi: Reaction: After Miyoshi is turned face-up in one of your Provinces, discard her: Search your Dynasty deck for a Dragon Creature Personality. Fill the Province with that Dragon.
Togashi: Dragon Clan Kami. Creature. Samurai. Shugenja. Cavalry. Unique. Loyal
Card features (Legacy) Individual keywords may be split from larger ones. EXCEPTION: The following keywords are indivisible: [X] Clan; Battle Maiden; Clan Champion; Elemental Master; Fu Leng. “[X] Clan Champion” may be split into the following two-word keywords: [X] Clan and Clan Champion.
Togashi has the traits Creature and Dragon Clan, but he doesn't have the trait Dragon, since that may not be split from Dragon Clan. Alex Jones, "Agashi Miyoshi", 11 Aug 2008
• Q: Ex: Togashi (cant remember names) Champion is overlayed, would he be able to attack? IE version says he cant but E version dosnt.
A: It's Togashi Satsu. (I'm sorely tempted to start a policy that if you can't provide card titles, we can't answer questions).
Traits replace. Attack away. Zen Faulkes, "Overlaying and abilities", 14 Mar 2005
