Rules Q&A
- Q: Togashi Miyoko (Experienced)
Dragon Clan • Monk • Tattooed • Experienced • Unique • Defender of the Temples Reaction: Even if Miyoko is bowed, after the resolution of an action during which a Temple bowed: Straighten Miyoko's unit and give her +2F.
Is it legal to bow a Temple holding to generate gold if the Action has a 0 gold cost, in order to use Miyoko's Reaction?
If a temple is bowed during my Open/Limited phase, how long does the +2F bonus last? End of Open/Limited phase? End of turn? Will it last through any combat resolutions?
Thanks!
A: See here.
"It is permitted to overpay a Gold cost by any amount, including producing Gold to overpay a Gold cost of zero on (for example) a Strategy card. It is not permitted to pay Gold to bring into play a card with no Gold cost stat (such as a Ring or Region), or for an action with no Gold cost on a non-Strategy card (such as a Personality or Follower)."
You may indeed pay gold for a Strategy card which otherwise has no Gold Cost.
Regarding your second question, effects without a stated duration last until the end of the turn. Dan Jacobson, "Togashi Miyoko (Experienced), gold costs, and timing", 7 Aug 2009
