Rules Q&A
- Q: Togashi Satsu Exp., Exp.2 and Exp.3 all have the trait "Satsu need not bow to cast Kihos." But can he still cast Kihos if he is already bowed? The argument is whether the trait can or cannot waive a cost that could not be paid in the first place.
A: Yes, as long as the Kiho action's constraints block doesn't call for targeting an unbowed Personality to perform it.
In general, costs can be waived or substituted even if you can't pay them. For example, if you waive a card's Gold cost, you needn't have sufficient unbowed Gold lying around to do so. Brook Cunningham, "Togashi Satsu (Exp.): "Satsu need not bow to cast Kihos."", 17 Sep 2008 - Q: Does Togashi Satsu exp4 count as a nonhuman card?
A: No. Zen Faulkes, "Togashi Satsu exp4 and others", 14 Sep 2007 - Q: My opponent recruited Togashi Satsu EXP4. I then killed Satsu. So now we have a Unique Togashi Satsu DEAD in a discard pile. When I went to recruit my Togashi Satsu EXP4. My opponent said he didn't think it was legal, and that Dead personalities count as in play for Uniqueness purposes. Is this correct, or an old ruling that is no longer valid?
A: It's not correct, and it has never been a rule. Zen Faulkes, "Dead Unique Personalities", 9 Sep 2007
