Rules Q&A
- Q: Finally, does searching a subsection of your deck count as a trigger for searching your deck? (e.g. Naseru's Strength, Togashi Shozo)
A: No.'
Anything Jeff didn't cover there that I need to have cleared up? Martin Lund, "Rules for 8 June 2004", 10 Jun 2004 - Q: Shrine to Fukurokujin You may have no more than one Shrine to Fukurokujin in play. Bow Shrine to Fukurokujin to produce 2 Gold. Limited: Bow Shrine to Fukurokujin and one of your Personalities to draw a card. Show the card to your opponents; if its Focus value is greater than or equal to the Personality's printed Chi, discard it.
Togashi Shozo Dragon Clan Monk - Tattooed Once per turn, before you draw a card, instead look at a number of cards on the top of your Fate deck equal to one plus the number of Elemental Rings you control and draw one of those of your choice. Leave the remaining cards in their original order.
Can I use the power of Togashi Shozo with Shrine to Fukurokujin?
A: Yes. You still have to show the drawn card to your opponents and possibly discard it. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 19 March 2004", 20 Mar 2004 - Q: Togashi Shozo Dragon Clan Monk - Tattooed Once per turn, before you draw a card, instead look at a number of cards on the top of your Fate deck equal to one plus the number of Elemental Rings you control and draw one of those of your choice. Leave the remaining cards in their original order.
I have 1 Togashi Shozo in play and 2 Rings in play. Imperial Ambassadorship resolves. How many cards do I look at?
A: You will draw three from the Event. Before any one of those three, you may use Shozo to look at your next three still on the deck and draw one of those instead of the top card. You can potentially see up to five cards if you use Shozo's effect on the last draw. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 16 Feb. 204", 18 Feb 2004 - Q: Finally, does searching a subsection of your deck count as a trigger for searching your deck? (e.g. Naseru's Strength, Togashi Shozo)
A: No. Jeff Alexander, "rules for 6 Feb. 2004", 7 Feb 2004 - Q: Since this is a trait, not a Reaction, and is thus always "on", what does "once per turn" mean?
A: It means the effect can only happen once a turn. (Is this meant to be some sort of subtle trick question?) Zen Faulkes, "Rules for 3 December 2003", 4 Dec 2003
