- Q: Re: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=80296
Please forgive another Shameful Injury question. I searched and read past posts, but am still confused. There are a number of posts regarding Shameful Injury and a Continuous bonuse/reduction such as those granted by Tokens. The rulings all center around Shameful Injury negating the bonus, but then the bonus reasserts itself. Is this the case for all continuous effects even if they are granted by an action?
For specific examples:
Training Maneuvers Terrain Battle: If you control a Tactician or Scout Personality at the current battlefield: Your Personalities and Followers have +1F while there.
Since the +1F granted is a continuous effect as long as the terrain is in play and I meet the conditions, will the force bonus reassert itself immediately?
Seven Seas Port Port Recon Open: Target a province. Your Mantis Clan Personalities and your Scout Followers have +1F while at that province's battlefield.
Same question. Since the +1F granted is a continuous effect as long as my Mantis Personality is at that battlefield, will the force bonus reassert itself immediately?
Or am I missing that these actions are not continuous effects?
Thank you in advance!
Edit: I think it just clicked. Are the above actions Ongoing effects, and thus would be negated and would not reassert themselves?
A: Those are indeed ongoing effects, and An ongoing effect that is applied “while” some condition is true ends when that condition is no longer true, and takes effect again if the condition becomes true within the stated duration of the effect. Nevertheless, a conditional ongoing effect is a single effect, regardless of how many times it is reapplied. If it is negated or prevented, it remains negated or prevented if the effect is reapplied due to the condition being met anew.
