Rules Q&A
- Q: Tsudo no Oni is attacking a province and Otsuko defends alone with no sneak attack being played. I play Calm (Before Death) targeting her and tsudo, please tell me if this is the right sequence of events
1. Targeting 2. Costs paid (Otsuko destroyed) 3. Reaction to destruction (reducing Tsudo's force to 0) 4. Resolution (Tsudo's force is subtracted by 4 again, it is still 0 and he is destroyed)
Is this correct?
A: Yes. Zen Faulkes, "Matsu Otsuko plus Calm Before Death", 2 Oct 2010 - Q: Tsudo no Oni After Tsudo enters play: Lose 6 Honor. Battle: Destroy a target enemy card. That card's owner may target and destroy one of your cards at the current battlefield, other than this card.
Does it mean that personalities with attachments (i.e. whole units) may also be targeted and destroyed by both effects?
Thanks a lot.
A: Both effects may target Personalities, regardless of whether they have attachments or not.
When the Personality is destroyed by the effect, his attachments will also be destroyed by the Rules.
Attachments: "When a Personality leaves play, all his attached cards leave play in the same manner as he did. This leaving play is a rulebook effect contingent on the effect that took the Personality out of play[.]" Brook Cunningham, "Tsudo no Oni - "target an enemy card" phrase", 9 May 2010
