Rules Q&A
- Q: There is nothing in the archive on this, probably because it's a clarification, not a ruling.
If Tsuno Scouts cancel a use of Tactician, though any cards used or discarded for that use would be gone, Tactician would still be reusable by the Personality as it counts as having not been used. Is is correct?
A: "If an action is CANCELED, it does not count as having been taken (or even attempted)." [GE/APC/AOF/DA rulebook, p. 45 That Personality's one use of the Tactician trait for this battle is not considered used if it's canceled. Jeff Alexander, "post for 11 June 2002", 12 Jun 2002 - Q: #2 Ikoma Fujimaro is defending against Tsuburu and Tsuno Kuroshimi with Tsuno Scouts attached. Fujimaro attempts to cap Tsuburu, I bow the Tsuno Scouts to cancel it, as it counts as a use of Tactician. We looked up a ruling on Tactician, and it didnt make sense. Is the tactician ability 'used' due to it being attempted and cancelled, or not? If not, it relegates the the new Tsuno and the Tsuno Scouts down several notches.
A: This has been well explained by other posters. Thanks, guys! Jeff Alexander, "post for 29 April 2002", 30 Apr 2002
