Rules Q&A
- Q: I know that back in February, it was stated that there were 2 different versions of Tsuno Takuma out there. I do remember hearing later that in fact there was only one, and the complaint about there being two different versions was unfounded. Is this the case?
A: There is only one version. Jeff Alexander, "post for 10 May 2002", 15 May 2002 - Q: "Takuma has the Tactician trait while it as one or more Tactician tokens. Takuma loses a Tactician token each time it sues the Tactician trait."
Battle: "If Takuma is opposed and has no Tactician tokens, gain a tactician token."
APC Rulebook (sorry, no AoF starters yet ):
". . .Such personalities have the Tactician trait. Their controller may, as a Battle action once per battle per Tactician, target the Tactician and discard a card from his or her hand to raise the Tactician's Force by the card's Focus value until the turn ends. . ."
This may be a dumb question, but you never know. Now, as I see it Takuma is NOT a tactician when he enters battle, he's only a tactician while he has a token on him. So, when he gains the token, he's a tactician, when he uses the token, he no longer has the tactician trait, he may then gain another token because he would be still opposed and have no tokens left.
A: Correct. Jeff Alexander, "post for 20 February 2002", 21 Feb 2002 - Q: Where would these archives be?
A: http://l5r.alderac.com/rulings/ Jeff Alexander, "post for 20 February 2002", 21 Feb 2002 - Q: I had previously thought that the alternate versions of all 3 misprinted cards must have been in the starter decks, vs. the boosters, but this must not be the case. Where was this version of Takuma (the non-token version) available?
A: Apparently, there actually aren't two versions of Tsuno Takuma, which renders the ruling unnecessary in its case. Jeff Alexander, "post for 19 December 2001", 19 Dec 2001
