Rules Q&A
- Q: ---- Unavoidable Destiny: Until the beginning of your turn two turns from now, Events may not be cancelled, nor their effects negated, by cards or Strongholds. ----
Avoid Fate does not use the word "cancel", despite the fact that it essentially behaves as a cancellation effect. Is Avoid Fate playable while Unavoidable Destiny is in effect?
A: Technically, it's still playable, but it will do nothing. Jeff Alexander, "post for 10 Oct 2002", 11 Oct 2002 - Q: When a Unavoidable Destiny resolves, does a A Matter of Pride kill an SL Player or not?
A: Not. Shadowlands players do not experience any honor changes whatsoever. That's not the same as negating part of the event. Jeff Alexander, "post for 10 June 2002", 11 Jun 2002 - Q: My question is about Unavoidable Destiny.
Until the beginning of your turn two turns from now, Events may not be cancelled, nor their effects negated, by cards or Strongholds.
Does this mean that if Unavoidable resolves, then Troll Raiders/Age of Man resolves, that even under the Raiders, I can still resolve Events?
A: Correct. Jeff Alexander, "post for 7 June 2002", 8 Jun 2002 - Q: Just a short question. Does Unavoidable Destiny resolve against a player using Norikazu Sensei?
A: No. It doesn't create a new victory condition. Jeff Alexander, "replies to 20 September 2001", 21 Sep 2001
