Rules Q&A
- Q: Dear all,
Reading this thread: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=110940#p1447132 I would have a question. Is it possible to overpay any gold cost following the Gold Pooling of Ivory Edition?
Well, the consequence is: Is Unexpected Find it playable? Card text: After you overpay a Gold cost by 1 or more Gold: Put this card into play in your home, bowed. Draw a card during your next End Phase.
Best Regards, Rémi.
A: Technically not.
However, Unexpected Find should still be playable once the Oracle is completely updated. Brook Cunningham, "Is it still possible to overpay anything?", 22 Nov 2014 - Q: Hello guys question for Unexpected find for Lotus. Can I play this card, if I pay 3 gold for a 4 gold personality which I wont proclaim?
A: Yes. If you take the Clan Discount, you only have to pay 2. If you then pay 3, you've overpaid. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 29 Jan 2026
