Rulings
- Erratum: Reads, “Utaku Tama 3F/3C 2HR 8G 3PH Unicorn Clan • Samurai Cavalry • Battle Maiden Tama has +2F for each of your provinces that has been destroyed this game.” [MRP, Samurai Edition, 25 July 2007] Comprehensive Rules, Samurai Edition, with specific card rulings, final version, May 2009, p. 167
Rules Q&A
- Q: If my opponent destroys my prvoince with Utaku Tama in it and I play Fires in the Hidden City, does Tama gain her +2/+2 permently?
A: Fire in the Hidden City says, "Play after an attacking army destroys one of your Provinces"
Utaku Tama says, "Tama permanently gains +2F/+2C each time one of your Provinces is destroyed while she is in
play."
Your card puts her into play AFTER the Province has already been destroyed. She's not in play in time to
trigger her bonus. Martin Lund, "Rules for 13 May 2004", 16 May 2004 - Q: I attack 4 provinces simultaneously, of which the defender chooses to defend only 1, however among her defenders is Utaku Tama (+2F for each destroyed province) - if I resolve combat at the other provinces first (destroying each) does this mean that Tama gains +6F for the final province's battle, or +0F since I believe (perhaps incorrectly) that all battles resolve simultaneously and therefor Tama could only receive the permanent bonus after the combat segment ends?
A: Battle resolve in order, not simultaneously. Rules, Battles: "If one or more battlefields that have not resolved or ended a battle remain, repeat the battle procedure starting with Choose Battlefield." Zen Faulkes, "order of resolution in combat", 11 Jul 2007
