Rules Q&A
- Q: if Ikoma Asa is in play (Lion Clan Samurai you own in and out of play have +1 Honor Requirement, +1PH, and a maximum Personal Honor of 5.) and i am playing the stronghold Vigilance Keep (After you destroy a province as the Attacker: Gain Honor equal to the base Personal Honor of one of your Personalities at that battlefield.) And i have a personality any lion clan lets say printed personal honor 3 (then Ikoma Asa's +1) equalling 4 personal honor. This person attacks and i take the province do i get his printed personal honor or his personal honor or the personal honor with asa?
A: You gain 3, his base Personal Honour:
"Base" refers to a stat or keyword that exists on a card or other entity as printed (following the most recent printing) or initially created, without modifications from effects. A card’s base value can not be changed. Alex Jones, "Ikoma Asa and Vigilance Keep", 7 Jul 2008 - Q: Hi, I just want a clarification.
Vigilance Keep After you destroy a province as the Attacker: Gain Honor equal to the base Personal Honor of one of your Personalities at that battlefield.
Rulebook says: When dishonorable Personalities are involved in gaining one or more points of Honor, the Honor gain is negated and they are rehonored (restored to honorable status). Specifically, this happens: • Before a player gains Honor from an action or trait that targeted, came from, or was performed by one or more of his or her dishonorable Personalities.
If I destroy a province with dishonored personnalities, does the stronghold allows me to rehonor them or I just gain honor ?
Thanks
A: You gain the honor. The action in Vigilance Keep is not peformed by any personality. Chris Fuchs, "Vigilance Keep and dishonored personalities.", 21 Oct 2007
