Rules Q&A
- Q: Is Samurai Lancers considered a Samurai for purposes of playing the strategy Vigilant Eyes?
A: No, as it does not have the Samurai keyword.
The days of the "Foo Rule" are long gone. Alex Jones, "Samurai Lancers and Vigilant Eyes", 15 May 2015 - Q: Just a question that came up, and we weren't sure on the answer. Searching on here I coudl not find anything to specifically answer this witht he cards involved, or other cards like them.
Here is how things played out....
It is my opponents turn. It is my action.
1) I play Vigilant Eyes, and reduce a target units force by 13. This puts him under zero, but effectively at zero.
2) My opponents next action, he equips an Iron Kabuto on the previously targeted individual, whose force is now restored.
3) We go into combat.
4) I play a card which destroys the Iron kabuto.
Question: Is the personalities force now 0 (or lower) or still at his original force? So does the Iron Kabuto permanently remove the effect of that Vigilant Eyes that was played? Or does it only negate that penalty as long as the Kabuto remains in play?
Card texts......
Vigilant Eyes: Open: Target your unbowed Samurai: Give a target Personality a Force penalty equal to your Samurai's Force.
Iron Kabuto: Negate all current and new Force penalties on this Personality.
A: The Personality's force will be 0.
Iron Kabuto's trait generates a continuous effect, which, like all continuous effects, ends when the Kabuto leaves play. Alex Jones, "Destroying the Iron kabuto", 25 Feb 2011
