Rules Q&A
- Q: Face Me! Rarity/EditionU Dark Allies TextReaction: Play after one of your challenged Personalities enters a duel and target both duelists. Replace their Chi with their Personal Honor until the duel ends. Gold0 Focus3
Personality A has 3 Chi, and 1 ph and a Weapon attached (Wakizashi +1C) total chi = 4 If I duel this personality and play face me, the Chi of this personality is 2 (1ph + 1C from the wakizashi) or 1?
A: Dark Allies rulebook, p. 32:
"It is possible to set a card's value directly to a particular number. Do not apply any bonuses or penalties already in effect to this new number--in essence, they're already part of it."
Answer: 1. Jeff Alexander, "post for 9 April 2002", 10 Apr 2002 - Q: but here goes: With Iaijustu Lesson, This has probably been asked before, but here goes: With Iaijustu Lesson, weapons like Naginata, Wakizashi, etc. don;t contribute their chi, correct?
A: Correct. Jeff Alexander, "post for 8 April 2002", 9 Apr 2002 - Q: Maximums and minimums are applied last, after all bonuses and penalties are added. [AOF rulebook pp. 31-32] Domotai with a Charge played on him is a 3/3. Domotai with a second Charge played on him (which is legal) is still a 3/3. If, somehow, he finds himself with a brand new Wakizashi (+1C) during the battle, he'll become a 4/4.
Say this Domotai finds himself in a duel, where his focus values total 6 (thrown two 3's as focuses). Between revealing the focus values and duel resolution, he becomes 7/10 (1 base + 3 + 3 (2 Charges) / 3 base + 1 Wakizashi + 6 Focuses)?
A: Correct. Jeff Alexander, "post for 20 February 2002", 21 Feb 2002 - Q: Sorry to bother the list about such an elementary question, but..
Does a personality have to have another weapon already attached, to be able to attach a wakizashi?
A: No. Jeff Alexander, "post for 7 December 2001", 8 Dec 2001
