Rulings
- Erratum: Reads, "When Darkness Draws Near 0G 3FV Battle: Send an allying unit home from this battle, bowed. If the unit's controller no longer has any units in any battle and has had no units in armies during any Resolution Segment this turn, he or she loses 2 Honor." [MRP, Gold Edition, 1 July 2001] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 39
- May not be played by a Shadowlands player if the ally has no other units in any battle, because it would cause an unconditional honor loss. [JA, email, 5 July 2001] Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 40
- If an ally re-honored some Personalities instead of gaining 2 honor, those Personalities are redishonored instead of 2 honor being lost when the last one is sent home. [DW, l5rinfo, 12/9/96] Accumulated Rulings, February 8, 2000, p. 63
- The loss of the 2 pt bonus is not a loss of honor, but a retroactive cancellation of the original gain. Thus it cannot be reduced, prevented, or redirected. This also makes this card a Political action. [DW, email, 7/1/97] Accumulated Rulings, February 8, 2000, p. 63
Rules Q&A
- Q: So I was looking at the Gold MRPs on Zen's page (thanks Zen!) and came up with the following questions:
1) When Darkness Draws Near Reads, "When Darkness Draws Near 0G 3Fo Battle: Send an allying unit home from this battle, bowed. If the units controller no longer has any units in any battle and has had no units in armies during any Resolution Segment this turn, he or she loses 2 Honor." [MRP, Gold Edition, 1 July 2001]
So I send units to ally the attacker at provinces A, B, and C. At province A, the defender plays WDDN. According to the text on the card I lose 2 honor, eventhough we haven't resolved the other battles. True?
A: False. You still have units in other battles. Jeff Alexander, "replies to 1-2 July", 5 Jul 2001 - Q: So I was looking at the Gold MRPs on Zen's page (thanks Zen!) and came up with the following questions:

So I send units to ally the attacker at provinces A, B, and C. At province A, the defender plays WDDN. According to the text on the card I lose 2 honor, eventhough we haven't resolved the other battles. I could then lose 6 honor this turn from WDDN. True?
A: Not by my reading. If you sent units to attack three provinces, and get WDDN'd at the first one, you still have units in the other two battles. WDDN says that if you have no units in *any* battle, you lose two honor, not if you have no more units in the current battle. Vaughn Derderian, "Rules for July 3rd", 3 Jul 2001
