Rules Q&A
- Q: Following up on this thread http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=64876. So I guess my main question would be after Three Stone River's effect has resolved reducing my personalities force to 1, would the events (Dawn of the Spider, Arrival of the Phoeinx, or Wrath of the People) raise my force back up by +2? Essentially making my force 3 on personalities there?
-Matt
A: They already raised your Force, and then Three-Stone River gave your a Force Penalty large enough to reduce your boosted Force to 1.
For example, use Kodomo with her 1F, and Wrath of the People: "your Unaligned Human Personalities have +2F"
Kodomo has 3F during the Combat Segment: 1F Base + 2F from Wrath of the People.
Three-Stone River gives Kodomo -2F, so now her total is 1F: 1F Base + 2F from Wrath of the People -2F from Three-Stone River.
You only ever get +2F from Wrath of the People. Gaining another +2F after Three-Stone River resolved would mean you got +4F, not +2F. That doesn't happen. Martin Lund, "Global events force boost duration", 17 Jan 2008 - Q: Does Wrath of the People affect everyone that is human and has no legal Samurai Edition Clan Alignment, including Kodomo and Sachika (who has the Unaligned keyword)?
A: http://rules.l5r.com/Glossary_U#Unaligned: "A Personality, player, or Stronghold without a Clan alignment." Yes. Zen Faulkes, "Wrath Of The People and "Unaligned"", 3 Oct 2007 - Q: A Personality, player, or Stronghold without a Clan alignment. Unaligned Personalities do not have the same Clan alignment as an Unaligned player or Stronghold, nor do they have a different Clan alignment from anything.
A: This has changed from what it was in Lotus, which is probably where your confusion is coming from. Chris Fuchs, "Kodomo + Wrath of the People", 28 Sep 2007 - Q: (Does) Wrath of the People works on things like Master Saleh's Ghuls, Essence of Gaki-do, and Companion Spirit?
A: "Work" is pretty vague. If you're referring to the force bonus, created cards could receive it. Zen Faulkes, "Wrath of the People", 4 Aug 2007 - Q: So, with new unaligned rules: Wave men event and wrath of the people essentially work the same for the undead deck right? Are yoritimo alliance and toturis army are considered "clan affiliations" (I assume they are obviously)
A: Well, with new or old Unaligned rules, Wave Men works the same for everyone, and Wrath would work with most, if not all, Undead the same. And yes, YA and TA are Clan Alignments. Brook Cunningham, "Oracle of the Void #rules", 26 Apr 2021 - Q: Yeah! Really styling and using "wrath of the people" event... which is extra stinky in there
A: Yeah. Basic Moto Tsume, technically and stupidly not Undead. Brook Cunningham, "Oracle of the Void #rules", 26 Apr 2021
