- Is distinct from Daidoji Hachi. (Card text) Rules Archive, August 18, 2007, p. 132
- Q: Gold Edition has a card called Yasuki Hachi who "counts as Daidoji Hachi for deck construction". Yet, Daidoji Hachi is, himself, a Gold-legal card. Was Yasuki Hachi supposed to be the "Soul of Daidoji Hachi", or is he the Most Recent Printing of Daidoji Hachi? A: Neither! They are two distinct cards and are both played as written in all tournament formats. Players using the Iron Fortress of the Daidoji Stronghold may use Daidoji Hachi to benefit from his Daidoji family name, even in Strict Gold games. Experienced versions of Daidoji and Yasuki Hachi may only be overlayed on top of identically-named less-Experienced cards. Legend of the Five Rings FAQ, May 21, 2003, p. 7
Rules Q&A
- Q: 3) Do Kuni Utagu xp1 and Yasuki Hachi xp1 count as Champions for their clan for the use of Faith in My Clan?
A: They are Champions, but they are not Clan Champions. This is true no matter how their Factions change. You need a Clan Champion for Faith In My Clan. Jeff Alexander, "post for 22 May 2002", 23 May 2002 - Q: The object of this question is: can i reduce the honor requirement of Yasuki Hachi(the last card printed) with the strongold of the daidoji?
A: No. Jeff Alexander, "post for 15 April 2002", 16 Apr 2002 - Q: So can XP Yasuki Hachi (An Oni's Fury) be overlayed over Daidoji Hachi (Spirit Wars)?
A: No. Jeff Alexander, "post for 1 March 2002", 2 Mar 2002 - Q: If I have a 2/4 personality (Yasuki Hachi for instance), and 2 Fortress of The Dragonfly in play, Yasuki is 2/6, ok... but what happens if I use Energy Transference on him ? Does he become 6/2, or 4/4 ?
A: He was a 2/6, so he'll become a 6/2. [AOF rulebook pp. 32, 42] Jeff Alexander, "post for 6 February 2002", 7 Feb 2002
