Rules Q&A
- Q: If I am playing BofTET, and get +1f/+1c PACK token for each Ratling Follower I control, and then I play Ratling Bushi, which gains +1F for each Ratling Pack in this unit, does each pack token add to the +1F?
The game I played in said no, they don't count. When I looked in the deck, it said that a follower token is a card, but nothing about if a Pack token is the same thing as "ratling pack".
A: Bone of the Tattered Ear Tribe says, "When Bone of the Tattered Ear Tribe enters play, it gains a +1F/+1C Pack token for each Ratling Follower you control."
Those are "Pack tokens" not "Ratling Pack tokens." They don't have the "Ratling" keyword.
Ratling Bushi says, "Ratling Bushi gains +1F for each Ratling Pack in this unit."
"Pack tokens" are not the same as "Ratling Packs." Martin Lund, "Rules for 16 and 17 April 2004", 18 Apr 2004 - Q: next does Ratling Followers will join you for 1 less Gold. mean that the followers from Ratling Village Reaction: When a Ratling Personality is entering play from this Province, you may reduce its cost by 2G, or attach a Ratling Follower from your hand without gold cost. Limited: Once per turn, you may pay 1G to add a 0F Ratling Pack Follower to one of your Ratling Personalities. come into play for 0 gold? or does it mean the same as your ratling followers cost 1 less gold and therefor not apply to the village.
A: The second. Jeff Alexander, "post for 24 January 2003", 25 Jan 2003 - Q: Now that I have access to local tournaments, I find that there are a number of ratling players around here (about 1/3 of the players seem to prefer ratlings). Being that I haven't played much for a few years, I've forgotten a couple of things that I can't seem to find answers for in my searches.
1) When playing Warrens of the Nezumi, with Ratling Villages, can I get the Ratling Pack token off of the Villages for free with the Warrens reduction.
A: No. You are not paying the Gold cost of a Follower. You are paying the Gold cost of an action on a Region. Jeff Alexander, "post for 11 October 2002", 12 Oct 2002
