- "Others think him corrupt and unjust, and perhaps they are correct. But he loves the law in his own way, for his own purposes, and while he will twist the words of every edict on record, he will leave the Empire a better place than he found it. Rules Q&A
- Q: Just a quick question: Are subtitles keywords? For example, does Mirumoto Tsuda exp. count as an Emerald Champion for the older Emerald Armor cards?
Thanks in advance.
A: The Emerald Armor • Experienced 2 attaches for free to Mirumoto Tsuda, the Emerald Champion • Experienced.
Subtitles are not keywords: they can't be copied by Myuken, for example, or the Water Dragon; they can't be removed by Dark Harmony; they can't be compared by Riddle of Rebirth.
However, like keywords and titles, they maybe be used to refer to a card, or class of cards. The Comprehensive Rules will be updated shortly to expand the definition of subtitles. Alex Jones, "Are subtitles keywords?", 19 May 2015 - Q: Well looks like abdication is the only one with an upside it can use from the ivory+ events. Still not sure about how interact with marriage to the emerald champion
A: Ah, that's a bit of an odd one, but I would say Kobai could copy and use the ability of Marriage. Just note that its final effect would then discard Kobai.
Edit: Same thing with Abdication; copying and using its ability would cause Kobai to discard himself.
So, again, apologies for thinking that there were "put into play, then use secondary ability" Events in Ivory 20F. That actually may be more of an Onyx+ design thing, and I was conflating the two environs. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 26 Oct 2025
