Rules Q&A
- Q: Does Atosa, the gaijin sensei, affect herself while face up in a province?
A: Continuous traits apply to a card itself while it is out of play. Atosa's trait fits the bill; she has your Clan Alignment while faceup in province. Jon Palmer, "Atosa", 8 Jan 2013 - Q: Question about Atosa: "Your Gaijin Personalities in and out of play (including Atosa) have your Clan alignment.". Is it correct to assume that the card text is not in effect until she has been played, so she can't be played with clan discount?
A: Her trait affects herself while out of play, so you can. It affects everything else once she's in play. Brook Cunningham, "Sun and Moon #rules-questions", 17 Mar 2025
