Rules Q&A
- Q: My opponent resolved the Event Festival of the River of Stars. He choose "River" as the word.
If the following cards - Black Finger River (Region) - Pulse of the Black River (Event) are revealed in my Provinces, what Gold cost have them?
A) 2 Gold cost B) no Gold cost, because the Region and Events hasn't a specified Gold cost, then Festival of the River of Stars couldn't increased it by two.
A: The answer would be "B." Festival of the River of Stars tries to increase their Gold Cost, which is an unlisted value, and fails to do so. Martin Lund, "Rules for 13 October 2004", 19 Oct 2004 - Q: Pulse of the Black Finger River has resolved, and later on in a battle I use a Ranged Attack on one of my opponent's Personalities and he uses, say, Experienced Isawa Nakamuro to redirect it to kill a Shadowlands Personality in my army. Who gains the honor?
A: You. Redirecting an action does not change its source or creator. Jeff Alexander, "post for 3 December 2002", 4 Dec 2002 - Q: 2: Black Finger River. When a personality comes into play from a province with this reagion attached, they are Shadowlands cards (ie. I can reduce their cost by 4g with the Horde Stronghold) Do they also now belong to the Shadowlands faction?
A: There is no trait that signifies belonging to the Shadowlands faction. No. Jeff Alexander, "post for 6 June 2002", 7 Jun 2002 - Q: I got a question:
Can I legally name Shadowlands as elligible (Shadowlands can now play alliance, that's why I ask)for Alliance, and so have a 2GC reduction with a personality coming from a "Black Finger River" region on a province?
A: It's legal to name the Shadowlands as a faction for Alliance, provided you are not playing a Shadowlands deck. You will receive no benefit for it whatsoever. Since there is no way for a Personality to be marked as belonging to that faction, there is no way for anyone to qualify for the 2g discount. Jeff Alexander, "post for 13 December 2001", 14 Dec 2001
