Rules Q&A
- Q: Continued from here:
So if you only looking at the cards and they then get shuffled in the deck after you equip Stockpiled Weapon. Do you then take the new top 4 cards so you can rearranged them per the text on In Stillness Forge Your Soul?
A: Once the first five cards you looked at (minus the Stockpiled Weapon) are facedown and back in the deck due to the shuffle, there's no effect that allows you to look at the next top four cards before rearranging them. Since you can no longer identify "the remaining cards", the rearrange effect fails. Jon Palmer, "In Stillness Forge Your Soul & Stockpiled Weapon", 27 Mar 2015 - Q: Why are you still not looking at the top five cards after the shuffle?
A: Because you're only looking at them - technically, they're still in the deck, so they get shuffled in with all the other cards in the deck. Alex Jones, "In Stillness Forge Your Soul & Stockpiled Weapon", 23 Mar 2015 - Q: I play In Stillness, and attach a Stockpiled Weapon paying the invest cost.
How does the deck shuffling interact with the fact that i'm still looking at some of the cards?
CR Page 60: Search: To look through a deck or other area for a card of a specified kind. After a player searches a deck, he or she must reshuffle it after taking any card(s) searched for.
My understanding is that after attaching I shuffle everything (including the cards I'm looking), and that is the end of the action. Is that correct?
Thanks!
A: Yes, you would reshuffle the entirety of the deck, including the top cards you were looking at. Jon Palmer, "In Stillness Forge Your Soul & Stockpiled Weapon", 5 Jan 2015
