Rules Q&A
- Q: Hello,
Regarding this: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=102763
Does this ruling apply only at battlefields or can it be extended in homes ?
I mean, let's say a player only has Goju Yorishi xp or a personality with The Emerald Armor xp2 equiped in play and his opponent has at least one personality in play. That player plays something like Hotei's Contentement Kitsuki Judgement (provided there are only Human personnalities in play) Accidental Confession Frozen in Place Asako House Guard's open action
Is Goju Yorishi or the personality with the Emerald Armor xp2 a legal target for any of these actions ? If not, does the player have to target one of his own personalities then ?
A: In general, yes.
However, note that Yurishi xp and the Emerald Armor xp2 work differently. Yurishi may not be targeted if any other legal targets are available (including another player's). The Emerald Armor xp2 only prevents you from targeting while another legal Personality is available at its Personality's location. Your home and the other player's home are separate locations, so if the Personality with The Emerald Armor is your only Personality, your opponent is not forced to target one of his Personalities in his home. Jon Palmer, "re: Goju Yorishi vs Limited phase actions", 15 Apr 2013 - Q: Hi,
Let's say Player A has 3 Personalities on a battlefield, one of them having attached Emerald Armor exp 2. Player B plays The Power of a Word for its Battle action. The question: does the Personality with Emerald Armor exp 2 stay on the battlefield, The Power of a Word having resolved on him unsuccessfully due to his attachment's trait, or does he move home along with the rest?
The Power of a Word (...) Battle: Target one to three enemy dishonorable Personalities: The shadow of their shame shall fall upon their shoulders. Move them home.
The Emerald Armor - exp2 (...) Other players may not target this Personality with actions while there is another Personality at his location who is a legal target for the action.
Thanks.
A: If there are other dishonorable Personalities in the army, the Personality with the Emerald Armor attached is not a valid target for The Power of a Word. Alex Jones, "The Power of a Word + Emerald Armor exp 2", 23 Nov 2012
