Dragon Clan Strategy for Thunderous Acclaim By Brandon Snyder | May 22, 2015 Greetings honorable Dragon Clan players! Thunderous Acclaim, the newest expansion for the L5R CCG, hits stores in July, and with it comes further support for Dragon’s newest themes, as well as some older themes. With two new Magistrates, new dueling support and, of course, Magistrate support, Yodo Sensei decks are really starting to take form. Below you'll find a deck-list for a sample Kitsuki Magistrate deck using cards from Thunderous Acclaim, which is intended as a good starting point for your own experimentation, playstyle and local metagame environment. You'll also find several of the cards described below In This Post On The Imperial Assembly . Starting with the Dynasty deck, we included the Event Political Standoff. With Yodo Sensei giving a point of Honor every time we dishonor someone, and the inherent strength of causing Honor losses to our opponents while also gaining Honor, this event is a strong inclusion. It offers a strong counter to opposing Honor or Dishonor decks, while also offering another, possible path to victory against Military decks. Our Gold scheme includes two 4-for-4 Holdings. Nexus of Lies helps punish our opponents for using cards with Honor losses on them, while Peaceful Retreat gives us another strong Gold producer. That said, it is a Fortification, so it's potentially vulnerable; if they do destroy it, however, it further advances our win condition! Other choices include Slanderer, which works well with our Magistrates, but also gains us a point of Honor for the action with Yodo Sensei. Brilliant Cascade Inn helps keep other Honor decks in check while, again, helping further our Political Standoff victory condition. I have included Padis Dojo as card draw support for later in the game and Jiramu’s Court to make sure our Courtiers are unbowed when they're needed. You may also consider Famous Bazaar, as it will speed up Dynasty prouction. Be wary of Small Time
