Decks that make use of dueling have had some success this Kotei season, with two second-place finishes. Accordingly, the potential for a strong deck is there, and with some of the new tools for the deck offered by Thunderous Acclaim , it should get pushed from a deck on the cusp of greatness to a legitimate Tier 1 threat. While many clans can duel well, the Lion can do what no other clan is able to—specifically, Tactical Dueling. The use of traditional "toolbox" methods to support Tacticians and the lethality of dueling actions (which generally ignore Attachments on their targets) is very potent combination. Between our Tactical Advantage Force bonuses, along with our Sensei and Stronghold, we should have no issues with being able to win prolonged battles. Let's take a look at five key cards that will power-up our Tactical Dueling decks: · Unforgivable – This is the big one. Since testing for Thunderous Acclaim began, I've been eagerly waiting for the day that I could slot this into my Lion deck. This card is simply beastly, allowing you to take two additional Actions, which can include the Tactical Advantage Action for a Force bonus, and then having the ability to play any card you discard for the Tactical Advantage later in the battle using Discipline. Often times, choosing between using a Fate card for a Force bonus from the Tactical Advantage Action, or playing the card for its Battle Action, was a difficult call to make. Both options could potentially help you win the battle. Now, with Unforgivable, you get the best of both worlds. · Battlefield Challenge – With Unforgivable being a card that will very quickly deplete your Fate hand, you need a way to get those cards back. Additionally, an issue with the Tactical Dueling deck is the limited selection of Tacticians available.
