Spider Clan Strategy Article for Thunderous Acclaim By Chris Braun | June 03, 2015 Followers of Daigotsu! The time has finally come to look at some of our new tools that will be unleashed in the first expansion for Twenty Festivals, Thunderous Acclaim! Spider has generally been in a pretty good place in the Twenty Festivals environment. A fair number of players have been making the elimination rounds of Kotei, although only one (Jack Murray) has brought a victory home thus far. Unlike years past, where playing Spider was considered a one-way ticket to the lower tables, Spider has multiple options that can be considered competitive in the environment, and that will continue with Thunderous Acclaim. The two, main Twenty Festivals Spider themes get more love in Thunderous Acclaim. Obsidian Claw Dueling has been a theme that hasn't broken through thus far, but with some excellent Fate support and two new Personalities, it may have the tools it needs to get to that next level. The Spider Ninja also add to their arsenal with two new Personalities, a Weapon, and two new Strategies to augment their board control builds that take advantage of Goju Kumoru's ambush effect, Goju Saido's Invest action, and Tairao's Chi reductions. The future looks bright for both of those themes. However, given what's coming for Spider in Onyx Edition, it seemed fitting that the deck made for this article features the man that will be leading the charge: Daigotsu Kanpeki, Unleashed! Fear remains the core theme for the Spider Clan and with Thunderous Acclaim, that core theme gets its own Sensei, Yajinden Sensei. This Sensei boosts the destructive ability of your Fear, while also protecting you from the Honor losses on interesting Undead Followers. It also protects you from the Honor losses on your Human Shadowlands Personalities, like the staple Ninube Shiho and the Unaligned Voitagi. While Yajinden Sensei doesn't allow you to run Nonhuman Shadowlands Personalities with Fear like Moto Daigoro and
